Nestled perfectly in the middle of the Livigno valley, this 2-week silent retreat will take place in a beautiful private villa with housing available for 20 people. The closest town is Livigno and the closest Swiss town is Zernez. It is a three-hour drive from Zurich, Switzerland.
Livigno is a newcomer to the tourist industry but it has maintained its Alpine charm and warm, friendly atmosphere. It has a duty-free tax denomination, so shopping is a draw for visitors.
The retreat will be held in a private residence. The villa has 10 bedrooms, with 2 beds each, most with en-suite bathrooms. There is no single occupancy available. We are researching additional lodging within walking distance and will post information if we find something suitable. Among the many wonderful features of the villa are:
- a mountain stream along side
- a great room with comfortable seating
- large sun deck overlooking the valley and mountains
- wifi
- large, well-equipped kitchen
- treatment room
- access to hiking trails and the town of Livigno near by

Transportation
The closest airport is Zurich, Switzerland. Although a combination of train, bus and taxi is possible the easiest way is by taxi van, which will come from Livigno and can hold 6 to 7 people (depending on luggage). The cost is 370 Euros (approximately $415) for the three-hour ride no matter how many passengers. The registrar will help coordinate transportation as much as possible by putting participants in touch with each other. If you live in Europe, it is relatively easy to drive. From the north or south, Livigno, once an entirely snow-locked village that closed in October for the winter, is now served by state-of-the-art tunnels and roads.
Meals
The villa has a large well-equipped kitchen and dining room. You will be able to prepare your meals and eat at your leisure during the unscheduled times. There will be a Kitchen Manager, who speaks English and Italian, to help with shopping and who will prepare main courses and salads to share. We will be in communication with participants about menu desires and food cost once enrollment is complete.
